Informational Capitalism

Whereas information plays a crucial role in any exchange, however large or small, it has rarely been costed in as such. As global society makes the transition from 'industrial' to 'informational' capitalism, the role of information as a capital asset, means, and item of use or consumption is ever more important.

Furthermore, the explicit use of information may offer the possibility of solving economic allocation problems outside of the traditional market form and thus open the way towards a viable 'cyber-communism' as an alternative of informational capitalism.
